This project had a very important economic condition, which led us to propose the construction of the premises in the self-construction format by the client himself. This fact conditioned the design in a relevant way since everything had to be designed to be carried out “easily” by non-specialists and with relatively basic technical equipment and tools. Even so, the fact of self-building could not condition the requirement of having a quality design.

It was also decided to use cheap and accessible materials in large construction materials stores.

The main idea was that, as a topography, the floor integrated all the functions necessary for the proper functioning of the premises. Thus, the horizontal plane built from OSB panels integrates the access ramps, the ball pool, the slide or the bar.

The two entrances of the premises are used for the two purposes of the premises. On the one hand TXOKO for adults that has the most open space attached to the façade and on the other hand the TIKIPARK for children’s leisure in the back. The bar – kitchen is located in the middle of the two spaces and can serve both one and the other simultaneously.

In the end… the reality is that adults use the slide as much as children.
