Two initial factors have had an important influence on this integral refurbishment in the old quarter of Bilbao. On the one hand, the fact of having a very long and very narrow floor plan means that the amount of light that penetrates the centre is scarce and the circulations are long. On the other hand, the fact that the dwelling is intended for tourism means that the project approach is very different from that of a traditional dwelling.

The main spaces have been located at the ends, taking advantage of the fact that these points of the house have more natural light and views (living-dining room and master bedroom). The rest of the spaces have been aligned like train carriages. The bedrooms have been designed with a configuration similar to Japanese capsules. The bathrooms are separated by a large mirror that provides them with light and visually expands their dimension.

Constructively, what the original house had to contribute in terms of wooden structure, party walls, heights, etc. has been kept intact.
