This house is a wood construction and is designed based on the following concepts:

Zero energy
A contemporary house must be CO2 neutral at minimum. This house basically has only biosourced materials above the concrete groundfloor. This allows to keep the CO2 impact of the construction as low as possible. The design allows the house to capture a maximum of sun in winter and a minimum in summer. The roof is designed to integrate a max of solar panels and this allows energy positive buildings.

Play of light and shadow
Light is essential to well-being. Shadow creates light. A playful play of shadows and light throughout all hours of a sunny day brings a unique ambiance to a space.

Free the diagonal
Space is luxury. Freeing the diagonal is freeing the mind to the maximum that a volume can give. A good design allows to enlarge the space while keeping it very cozy, a space where one is good.

Reverse the relationship with volume
The relationship of the human with a volume is different whether he is inside or outside the volume. Being outside volumes while being inside other volumes creates an interesting and intriguing tension as long as the volumes have their living space.

The balance between excitement and calming the mind
This balance point is a founding principle of aesthetics. Good design combines rhythm and form in order to continually excite and soothe the mind; continually recognizing some and still discovering other points of view in space.
